ADAMS Foundation is a non-profitable benevolent organization providing programs for providing support to under-privileged people in various districts since its inception in 1994. It strengthened by expertise project managers, coordinators, medical experts, research officer & assistant, efficient technical instructors as well as community mobilizer.
Over the years of implementing various activities, ADAMS has developed multi-disciplinary programs i.g. Environment & Climate Change, Health & Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Human Rights Gender & Social Inclusion, Capacity Development & Advocacy, Vocational Training Centers & Non-Formal Education, Humanitarian Action & Disaster Resilience, Renewable Energy, Research & Development, Agriculture & Food Security, Economic Inclusion & Finance etc.
ADAMS believes strongly in diversification, enhancement and up gradation of programs & research-based activities, it gradually spreading linkage and collaboration with public universities i.e. Khulna University (KU), Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), and Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) through MoU to implement research programs.. The organization engages in policy advocacy activities through interaction with policy actors of governments, civil society organizations, and community representatives by organizing workshops, meetings, bilateral communication, awareness sessions and courtyard meetings. ADAMS Foundation also contributes to promote civil rights, human rights and gender equality issues through training, discussion and dialogue with elected local Governments representatives including national and international organizations
ADAMS has extensive experience working with climate-vulnerable communities, including climate migrants in Khulna city Corporation, through programmes in health, shelter, livelihoods and social protection. Its work focuses on needs-based support and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable populations affected by climate impacts. The organization is strengthened by jointly working with research experts of universities with our research team through collaborating with national and international research institutions, including the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Khulna University, Ritsumeikan University, IIED and ICCCAD. Through these partnerships, ADAMS contributes to applied research and innovation, including the development of a low-cost arsenic removal filter accredited by BCSIR.
To establish eco-balanced welfare & exploitation free society as well as to support community people to keep peace & prosperity, create transparency and accountability, to eliminate corruption, coercive practice and dominating tendency through motivational work.
Strengthening underprivileged people with the tools needed to deal with existing inconveniences and to protect destitute, deprived & distressed people.
ADAMS initially focused on hard-core poor and underprivileged people of both rural and urban area bringing about positive change in their attitude and place them in the main walk of the society. Over the year we have moved towards integrated programs to transform human deprivation into human resources undertaking development initiatives and resilience.
Given priority to the under privileged people of both rural and urban area of our work enables us tackle the root causes of poverty and inequality. Working with diversified people, partners, donors and civil society platforms and reaching millions of beneficiaries, ADAMS creates lasting change by strengthening marginalized, excluded and ultra-poor communities. We provides livelihood support for Income Generating Activities (IGAs) of poor people including women through integrated start-up capital support program.
Our dedicated team implement programs that encompass sustainable livelihood, capacity building, and education program for both adult and child, health & WATSAN, climate change adaptation and mitigation, food security, disaster management and emergency response with the support of valued partners, donors including government agencies of Bangladesh.
All our activities are under pinned by right-based approach and empowerment of youth including women.
The Executive Committee, comprising of seven members, is the highest decision making body of ADAMS. The Executive Committee is elected for a period of two years from a General Body consisting of minimum 21 members. Development professionals and encouraged social activists are the part of the General Body and Executive Committee. Both the experienced professionals as well as the young leadership are welcomed in the committees. The General Body provides necessary policy direction to the organization. At present, out of 7 members, 2 positions of the Executive Committee and out of 24 members, 7 positions of the General Body are held by female members.
