Bangladesh has committed to achieving universal health coverage by 2030 which means ensuring that all citizens have access to quality health services without financial hardship. To achieve this goal everyone in government and private sector will have to work together. The aim of ADAMS health program is to promote disease prevention, enhance access to primary health care and address health disparities within communities which contribute to making healthy population that is turn in supports economic developments and societal progress. The Health and Nutrition program contributes to primary health care services, including ESP+, comprehensive health awareness and adolescent care etc. This program started from the beginning, and it continued to serve the underprivileged, poor and outreach families and communities at urban and rural areas in the southwestern part of Bangladesh. ADAMS has been running following successful projects to serve the poor, underprivileged people at Urban and Rural areas.

Projects

(i) ADAMS Mother & Child Healthcare Center, Mollahat, Bagerhat: A 20-bed hospital with operations facilities, diagnostics, EPI and others.
(ii) Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Projects (UPHCSDP-II): Khulna City Corporation, PA-01: Having 1 Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Center and 6 Primary Health Care Centers with 134 technical and non-technical staff.
(iii) Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Projects (UPHCSDP-II): Dhaka South City Corporation, PA-06: Having 1 Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Center and 3 Primary Health Care Centers with 86 technical and non-technical staff.

Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Projects –Phase II (UPHCSDP-II) ADAMS Foundation has been implementing the project in KCC PA-01 since August 2019. “Shebar Alo Sobar Kase” is the motto of UPHCSDP. The goal of the project is to improve the health status of the urban population, especially the underprivileged and ultra-poor, through improved access to Primary Health Care Services. ADAMS is delivering the services based on the National expended Essential Services Delivery (ESD+) package through satellite clinics, Primary Health Care Centres (PHCCs) and Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Centre (CRHCC) having proper OT facilities with full-time Specialist Physician (Gyn & Obs), Specialist Physician (Paediatrics), Medical Officers, Skilled Nurses, Paramedics, Lab Technologists and other non-technical staffs. The health care Services are being provided through 12 Satellite (72 spots), 6 PHCCs and 1 CRHCC. Through UPHCSDP-II projects following services are provided: i) Maternal Care ii) Population and family planning services, iii) Neonatal care, iv) Child health care, v) Reproductive healthcare, vi) Adolescent care vii) Nutrition viii) Communicable and non-communicable disease control ix) Limited curative care x) Diagnostics service xii) Emergency transportation

ADAMS Mother and Child Health-care Centre (AMCHC):

ADAMS has always given priority on health issues for the underprivileged people for the rural communities, especially; adolescent girls, mothers and children since its inception period. In this regard ADAMS established Mother and Child Health-care Center (AMCHC) in Mollahat upazilla of Bagerhat district in 2007 supported by Die Lichtbrucke e.V. Germany. Through AMCHC, ADAMS is delivering primary health care services based on the National expended Essential Services Delivery (ESD+) package through satellite clinics and a well-equipped 10 bedded hospital service having proper OT facilities with the help of full-time Medical Officers, Skilled Nurses, Paramedics, Lab Technologists and other non-technical staffs. On call basis, Specialist Physician (Gyn & Obs), Specialist Physician (Paediatrics) are available to provide service. AMCHC also provides preventive and curative health support through pathological support, ultra-sonogram, low cost essential medicines supply to the rural poor community. ADAMS provides preventive and curative health support through ADAMS Mother and Child Health-care Centre (AMCHC). AMCHC provides clinical facilities including operation theatre, pathological support, ultra-sonogram etc. to the rural poor community at very low cost. Awareness promotion on primary healthcare, and family planning along with treatment service delivery, consultation, referring support and low cost essential medicines supply are the major sector in this concern.
